A Day in the Life Of A Female Citizen

Hi today I am starting a new life in ancient Athens, year 3000 BC. I’m a female citizen. A piece of cotton has been hung on my door, to show that I have been born. Now that I am 5 my mother is teaching me on how to do domestic chores. While my older brother Andrew gets to go to school. During the day while my brother was at school, my mother and I would do the dishes and weave. When Andrew came home from school, and my Dad came home from doing government stuff. Mum and I would start making dinner.

Few Years Later

Now I’m 10. I am still doing the same domestic chores that I had to do when I was 5. Honestly life is the same except I am older. Andrew has been taking me to the market so I can go get us food, that is really the only thing that has changed. Soon though my brother shall be leaving for 20 years in the military. Then he shall become part of the government. And for me in a few years I shall be getting married. Later on in the day my father told me that he is taking us to see a play.

Age 16

Now its my birthday I have just turned 16 which means I am getting married this year. I shall be getting married. A few days after the wedding me and my husband moved in together. Later on me and my husband got a slave. She did all the house work, her name was Izah.
