Day In The Life Of A Metic By TrennenR
Necklace!Necklace, for sale. Only 10 drachme’s.
Selling was hard in the agora, working all day in the melting heat of Athens wasn’t easy.Lot’s of metic’s like me get very sick from standing in the heat for so long. It can be good some day’s but other not as much, but the thing that hurts the most is that I am not allowed to be part of the government here in Athen’s. I’m only allowed to sell stuff, like i’m trying right now.
It’s just me and my dog at home, it would be lonely, but he is like a human to me. But I’m sure glad I was not born into a family of slaves.
I was born in Patras, Patras is about 200 kilometres from Athens.I moved to Athens when I was 16, after my family got killed on an attack by the Thessaloniki
Army.
I would say my life is pretty good as a metic.
Today I am also selling horses. I got my horses in the back, horse tack is attached,
the horses have hat’s that are matte black, and black hooves that match.
A male citizen came to my store in the Agora, I told him he can’t tell me nothing but he said he does. He can participate in the government but I can’t, because I wasn’t born here.
My life is pretty good as a Metic.
And that’s how my day usually goes as a Metic.
cool
