A Day In the Life of a Female Citizen By Jack

I woke up to my master, Giannis, yelling.
“Alora! Alora! Get down here!”
“What.” I groaned.
“Good.” I replied, unhappily. I went out to the agora, (with my male slave, of course) to buy grapes from my favourite metic. While my husband is out, there is not much I can do. I wash the dishes, do the laundry, so on. My metic and slave our always bragging that someday they will become male citizens.  I can’t though because I am female, and there is just no possible way. Unfair, right? I know. Someday I hope there will be equality for all.
Man, I wish I was a male citizen. I could vote, be a part of the council 500, go anywhere I like, and so much more. That one annoys me the most. Male citizens, metics, and even male slaves can go anywhere if they were permitted by their owners.
A metic would be alright. No one owns you, you could go anywhere you want, and you have a chance to become a male citizen. The only catch, you can’t own land.
So me and my slave walked to the agora, bought some grapes, and took a long stroll home. On the way home we passed law courts, the Bouleuterion, the Tholos, the Pnyx, the Stoa, and some Temples, before finally, home.
